How do pension funds govern their investments? In particular, how do they decide whether or not to remain passive or become active in influencing the ESG agenda in companies in which they investment?
In our latest article just published in Corporate Governance: the International Journal of Business in Society, we examine the active ownership and governance strategies of Danish pension funds, identifying both strategic approaches and some of the contingency variables influencing the choice of these.
This was a great collaboration with two former students and my dear friend and colleague Johannes K. Dreyer. We are extending work in this area over the next 3 years with a project on Active Ownership and Governance Strategies, with a PhD student attached to the project, sponsored by the Sino-Danish Centre for Teaching and Research.
